Why you should NOT vote for Bloomberg

Even if Bloomberg wins the election, the fewer votes he receives the better. He needs a lesson in what democracy is and how he has failed those values and the people of the city he governs. Two things got Bloomberg elected - his record-breaking CAMPAIGN SPENDING, and the backing of his predecessor in office. Basically, Bloomberg BOUGHT his election, and is spending roughly 100 million dollars (news story on AM radio) to BUY his re-election. Those flyers aren't cheap to print and mail, nor are his TV and radio ads.

While Bloomberg is not the malicious tyrant his predecessor Ghouliani was, he is still completely beholden to him, and would not dare to seriously defy the fascist right-wing.

BLOOMBERG DOES NOTHING TO END CORRUPTION IN NEW YORK! The NY Daily News ran a 3-part series in late September breastled "Stuck On The Mafia's Highways - how real-life Tony Sopranos and mobbed-up contractors steal your tax dollars, put workers' lives in danger and even screw up traffic in rush hour." What has Bloomberg done about this? - NOTHING, and if re-elected he will STILL do nothing. And under Bloomberg the NYC Parks Department has continued its many UNNECESSARY, UNNECESSARILY EXTENSIVE, and UNNECESSARILY PROLONGED park reconstruction projects, wasting our tax money and inconveniencing us in the process. One wonders how the contractors are selected -

Billionaire Bloomberg, who NEVER has a parking problem, fought to the bitter end to keep the Sunday parking meter rules in effect. The City Council, with at least some glimmer of awareness of who they are really working for, finally overruled Billionaire Bloomberg for the public interest. Bloomberg makes a big show of occasionally riding the subways (look - I'm just like you, except for my bodyguards!), but when he travels by limo he uses a parking lot, never a meter or street spot. All Billionaire Bloomberg knows or cares about alternate side parking regulations is that violation tickets are a good source of revenue!

Regarding tickets, Bloomberg has on occasion ordered the NYPD to issue violations for the most trivial of reasons, admittedly just to raise revenue for the city. Reminds one of his predecessor, Tyrant Ghouliani - but Ghoulie did it out of spite, not just for the money.

Bloomberg SUPPORTS BUSH, Bush's IraqNam war, and the fascist right-wing federal government. He may soft-pedal his support to placate dissenting New Yorkers, but when push comes to shove, Billionaire Bloomberg is clearly on the side of the fascists. Likewise the fanatical Zionists, many of whom are very wealthy and share his business, religious, and political interests.

THE 911 NIGHTMARE: It is clear that a wider, covert conspiracy may well underlie the 911 attacks. Building WTC 7 was DELIBERATELY destroyed by a controlled explosive demolition; Larry Silverstein has stated he had building 7 "PULLED." Some believe the collapse of the towers themselves was likewise deliberate, using explosives. As building 7 was completely in flames, how could explosives have been placed by its main supports if not done PRIOR to the WTC attack and fire? This, and the ILLEGAL presence of diesel fuel in the building were Ghouliani's malevolent deeds. There were many probably incriminating (to Ghoulie) documents stored in building 7 that were conveniently lost in its deliberate destruction - not by foreign persons, but by CITY OFFICIALS. Bloomberg has since been willingly toeing the line in the greatest coverup attempt since Watergate, as documented in the Oct. 19 Village Voice story, "BLOTS ON THE RECORD: The Bloomberg Administration's Fight to Keep 911 Records Secret." In fact Watergate pales into insignificance compared to 911, as 911 cost thousands of innocent lives. If Ghouliani, Bloomberg and their ilk have their way, the truth behind 911 will never be known.

Bloomberg has not been above exploiting 911 and terrorism fearmongering to his political advantage, as with the recent UNFOUNDED subway terror scare. He approves of the routine violation of our Consbreastutional protection from warrantless searches, though he knows such random searches will not stop determined persons. He may not be the chief mastermind of the destruction of our American freedoms and protections, but he obviously does not disapprove. Billionaires have all the freedom and protection money can buy.

I have not followed Fernando Ferrer's career with the degree of attention and concern demanded by the Mayorality in recent years. I do know however, given the above facts and the fact Ferrer is a Democrat, that the rights and wellbeing of New Yorkers and democracy itself would be far better served with him in City Hall, NOT Bloomberg.
