Most American did not approve of the emancipation of the slaves or of interracial marriages - does this mean that things should remain as they once were today? The produces of the very popular Will and Grace and Queer Eye would be most upset with your for cutting off the millions they are raking in. let's face it, if the shows were not popular, nobody would be watching them and they would die out for lack of an audience... yet they thrive and garner high ratings.
