What if Gore had been electe

It's a nice fantasy, but as I recall it was Democrats who have opposed new Oil Refineries for the past 30 years, and it was Clinton-Gore, during their economic boom, which in part fueled the need for more Oil Refineries, who, along with the 1993 Democratic Controlled Congress, who pbutted the Green Initiatives in 1993 that reduced refineries in the US from 13 to 8, at a time when the not only the US Economy was starting to boom, but also China and India. It was under Clinton-Gore that US Oil Companies were allowed to merge from 8 companies to 4. It was also under Clinton-Gore that Bill Richardson was sent to Saudi Arabia to help the Oil Companies get more money, by encouraging them to cut production so prices would go up, thus giving the Russians more money for their Oil in exchange for their help in Bosnia (same Russians who, with China, are helping build Iran's Nuclear capacity). Then after they had helped build up Al Gore's warchest for the 2000 election (remember, he owned significant shares of stock in Occidental Oil - and probably still does, hence his desire to entire the 2008 race, if Hillary does), they sent Richardson back to the Saudi's in the Spring of 2000 to encourage them to increase production, but the Saudi's enjoyed the new price of Oil that had not changed significantly for the prior 15 years.

This in turn caused the early recession felt in the summer of 2000, and American's watched as they helped pay off Russia's and Mexico's indebtedness to us through the increase in Oil Sales. An indirect tax on the American people that continues to this day, and yet Democrats, in spite of having record Tax Revenue even higher than the Clinton years, want to increase taxes to pay down the debt, instead of freezing the budget and cutting out the pork. Now the Republicans are to blame for their overspending and porking, but I seriously doubt if the Democrats take control of either house this fall, that they will increase drilling in the US domestically for Oil including the Gulf of Mexico and ANWAR, nor will any new Oil Refineries get built, nor will they keep taxes low, and freeze spending. If anything they'll increase spending by conducting these witch hunt investigations to try to prove that the Bush Administration was wrong for invading Iraq and to try to find a way to impeach Bush before 2008.

All this in spite of the fact that China is now giving aid to CUBA to help them find, and drill for Oil in the Gulf of Mexico, and are slowly but surely trying to prop-up, with the drive-by Media with their Mute Button on, Cuba to become another government like Argentina, and like Bolivia! Way to go Democrats, you blocked up drilling out home, and now our Oil Companies are out Billions of dollars they invested in Bolivia, and soon the Chinese or Russians or both will be there to help give them the expertise they lack in running Oil Drilling, and refining even. The Dumb Democrats and stupid Liberal North Republicans are by listening to the Environmentalist Whacko's, helping setting up future Communist-Socialists Satellite States in Central and South America.

I used to think the reality of RED DAWN (the movie) faded with the cold war and my high school, and late University years, and yet, if we allow Democrats to keep us on the same path of no new Oil Refineries, no finding resources here at home on our coasts, and tying us up with useless Iran-Contra like hearings, we will see Chinese Communism grow, and the real threat of them shipping their Neutron plants in secret to willing governments like Argentina, Bolivia, and even Cuba for them to be used against us, since they don't have a conventional military that can do the job. And maybe even a few conventional Nukes to wipe out every non-civilian industry target, like Naval yards, Air Force-Army Bases, and Oil Refineries.
