Well, what started out as a kind gesture to help the less fortunate turned into a big joke. Namely a big money pit for city tax dollars. Eventually there will be no more rich people to tax. Taxes shouldn't be increased. Services programs should be decreased. When something such as a water tank is leaking, you plug the leak. You simply don't keep on pouring more and more water into it. City State government needs to start working this way. It's too bad that politicians have no balls to stand up to organized labor and get rid of the things that are bleeding the government dry. Well, they will continute to ride that train until THEY are removed from office. It's too bad the Lower East Side will never vote for a Republican, and Rensallear will not vote for a Democrat. Until voters in THIER district get rid of them, we are stuck with them. The only way they go (w-o getting ousted in an election, if if their legislative body turns color - buttembly to Republican, Senate to Democratic).
