The anatomically thickened african american skull leaves a smaller cavity in which brain cells may be developed, leading to diminished mental capacity, as compared with all of the other superordinate humans.

Now, shall we have a quick look at the "splendor" of your Mombasa and Kenya?

-- Political corruption in the post-colonial government of Kenya has had a history which spans the era of the Jomo Kenyatta and Daniel arap Moi's KANU governments to the Mwai Kibaki's NARC government. In the Corruption Perceptions Index 2005 Kenya is ranked 144th out of 159 countries for corruption. It is estimated the average urban Kenyan pays 16 bribes per month. Most of these bribes are fairly small but large ones are also taken bribes worth over 50000 Kenyan shillings (600, USD$700) account for 41% of the total value. There is also corruption on a larger scale with each of the last two regimes being criticised for their involvement. -- This is a good one; there are *many* more, some much worse! The "Rainbow Coalition" is the "anti-corruption" party! -- lol The local chapter of Transparency International and the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), a government body released a report in February, 2006, stating that between January 2003 and September 2004, the National Rainbow Coalition government spent about $12-million on cars that were mostly for the personal use of senior government officials. The vehicles included 57 Mercedes Benzes, as well as Land Cruisers, Mitsubishi Pajeros, Range Rovers, Nissan Terranos and Nissan Patrols. The $12-million substantially exceeded what the government spent over the 2003-04 financial year on controlling malaria -- "the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Kenya", says the report. Note: they specifically declined to report rests from AIDS! -- lol -- Mombasa became Portugals main trading centre along the East Coast of Africa. This led to the construction of a monumental fort that still stands today known as Fort Jesus. The Fort served as the main hub for trading goods, a prison for slaves, and most importantly protecting the Portuguese from conflicts with locals and threatening foreign battalions.

Slavery was the major activity that took place at that time, where local slaves were exchanged for goods from visiting ships that often came from European countries. The trading of spices, cotton and coffee, which were cultivated and grown in the rich fertile soils of the towns farms, is one if the reasons Mombasa was a popular destination for seafarers at the time. Captured slaves were forced to work on these farms in extremely harsh and inhumane conditions.

Remnants of slave trade can still be seen today around the town. Fort Jesus still contains cells where the slaves were held, and various artifacts from that era in the museum at the Fort. In addition to the evidence in the Fort, there also is a town bell located in Nyali just as you exit the Nyali Bridge. The bell was rung to inform the locals to hide from the slave capturers who were fast approaching. Note: Run, african american, run! Heah comez deh mbuttah! -- lol

Portugals reign over Mombasa lasted for approximately 200 years, after which they were overthrown by the Omani Arabs, who themselves would be forced to give up Mombasa to its final captors: the British. The British ruled Kenya from 1888-1963.
