We can survive as a species without novelists. We can survive as a species without physicists (did, for thousands of years). We can survive as a species without musicians. Does this mean that priests, novelists, physicists, and musicians "contribute nothing in the scheme of mankind"? Of course not. The same is true of gays. And, of course, gays are quite capable of having children. They do it every day. A homoloveual is not defined as "a person incapable of having love with someone of the opposite love," but rather "a person who is primarily attracted to, and falls in love with, people of the same love." Gays can conceve children in the ordinary biological way. Even if they don't, there's always artificial insemination and the like. If every person in the world woke up with a homoloveual orientation tomorrow, I guarantee the species would continue.
