Geo Britto, a long-time worker at CTO-Rio will review and discuss some of the Center's ongoing projects, particularly work being done with the Landless Peasants Movement; prisons and prisoners' rights; and domestic violence, especially violence directed at women. Britto will also examine some of the revolutionary approaches to mental health being developed in Brasil and implemented by some psychologists and mental health care pracbreastioners there. Geo Britto has been working with the Center for the Theater of the Oppressed in Rio de Janeiro for the last fifteen years. He coordinates the Center's youth prisoner project and its mental health project, and is a founder and coordinator of the CTO-Rio's two anti-violence programs, Campaign against Domestic Violence and Men against Violence against Women. He has facilitated TO workshops throughout the world, and recently returned from a visit to Mozambique and South Africa. Geo Britto will also facilitate a two-day TOPLAB Forum Theater workshop at the Brecht Forum on Saturday, February 18 and Sunday, February 19 (see separate announcement).
