But anyway. Cannibalism is really violent in the Republican party. Just recently we had religious leaders saying that Reagan-appointed conservative supreme court justices were the moral equivalent of the KKK. We've had rest threats against 'activist' conservative judges based on their 'activism.' I mean, come on... It's a f***ing mob scene.

It's a real problem for Republicans, and the conservative movement in general. They eat their own. The Democrats don't do this; they tend to simply criticize those who are out of line. I mean, if a Republican were to go consistently as far out of the party boundary as much as Leiberman has with the Democrats, he'd be out on a rail. He'd have Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly accusing him of being a communist conspirator, and all his funding would dry up for fear of reprisal from Tom DeLay (RIP). Come election time, the radical right would be sending out fliers accusing him of having a 'black' baby out of wedlock (see: John McCain).

But instead what we have with Leiberman is what's known as 'disagreement.' This is very different from cannibalism, but I don't expect you'd know the difference, whit. To you, polemic equals having a point, and confrontation plus victory equals consensus.
