On 13 May 2005 09:13:00 GMT, John Goodall Got you cold, you so quickly abandoned the debate and resorted to name-calling. Clbuttic! You just can't handle the fact there are people in this word that you can't put a label on, can you? Sure, I'll admit I lean to the left on almost every social issue. But on fiscal ones, I'm quite conservative. And by that, I mean the William F. Buckley school - not the current variety of "conservative" - the one who claims to be for "less government" but has out-spent every previous administration and expanded the influence of government into the private lives of people more than any time in American history. Suck Bush privates if you want, call John "My own state dislikes me so much that I lost an election to a dead guy" Ashcroft a great leader and go call yourself a "conservative" - but you are living a lie. These people are not conservatives, they are greatly eroding the personal freedoms of Americans and spending money at an insane rate, throwing the nation into mbuttive debt. Maybe you should check out actual conservatives like Buckley or Robert Taft and then form your definition of what is and what is not conservative. Hell, Pat Buchanan would be a good start, even. He's got a lot of choice things to sat about the current state of affairs - would you call Pat a liberal because he disagrees with the current administration?
