Wrong. Most of them just want to party with other bums who like to whine. But they do indeed have the right to asemble and protest and express their opinions. No one is attempting to deny them theit rights. However there's nothing in the consbreastution that says they or anyone else can destroy public property or infringe on the rights of others. For one think, that means buttebly can be denied when and where it interferes with others whether because it's blocking traffic or because another group of nuts has already planned their kook meeting, or becuase there are insufficient resources to hold such a gathering making it a safety issue. That's why permits are often quite properly and quite legally required. They are not public toilets either. If you want to meet in a public park, fine. Meet in small enough numbers that you can stay on the walkways and still not block others, and bring your own portable toilets (enough for your group), and bring a cleanup crew to pick up your trach and leave the park like your found it. You'll have to find a better argument than name calling to justify destruction of public property. William R. James
