Bill Baker It's not opinion. It's the reply of someone who is outta gas. It's a totally meaningless statement. Why isn't the state involved in contracts involving business partners? No it doesn't. Judges can be biased and rule incorrectly based on those biases. Judges can also be ignorant and care not whether they are ignorant. Happens all the time. You don't get it. The state doesn't really deny same-gender unions. It's just not a union they get invovled in. This isn't the best example in the world but it will do. The state issues driver's licenses because they have a compelling reason to want to encourage driving safety. That doesn't mean they are discriminating against people who drive bicycles. Sigh. You're the one who is using "the judge said so" as an argument. You're the one who has to prove it's based on lawful principles. You do if you want to make your argument. Do you know what a cite is? I don't see anything about the church or religion in that definition. It isn't in the first amendment. Sigh. But there is no compelling reason for the state to be a party to such a contract between two homoloveual people. Ya just don't get it.
