"Those Blacks are Animals", etc., You and Ghouli... The president made the comments amid an escalating tension between Iran and the international community over Tehran's suspected nuclear activities. His rhetoric aside, (1) he was making a speach to his troops and (2) he probably is at least slightly aware that the U.S. invaded Iraq after Bush made similarly ritual noises to what Bush is making now. Ahmadinejad is no doubt concerned and is trying to send a signal for the U.S. and others to stay out of his country. As a speach to the troops, think of it as the sort of speach a football coach makes before a game. Do you really expect him to tell his armed forces that they are a bunch of wimps who will get their buttes kicked? :-) The whole thing deserves a collective yawn. After all, he doesn't want his country to be invaded and otherwise everything he said was for internal consumption. It's really no different than Bush saying, "Bring it on."
