Please tell what's wrong with it, besides making America more secure. I was born and raised in Europe to 21 years old, entiore world has Pbuttport but American pbuttport is a joke as driver's license is much harder to fake and is used as de-facto national ID card, so the time to intriduce what rest of the world has known for ages is now. Americans didn't need national ID's and you're upset by this BEACUSE America was more or less insulated from terorism sicne World War II till 2001. In Europe occasional terrorism and white-collar crime is like brushing your teeth, happens too often and people are highly educated and smart and do need national ID's or else situation will go out of control. We like to use the words "freedom" and "democracy", but listen when too many educated yet unemployed people gather together, then you get tax evasion, arms sales, illegal smuggling, and such and ID's are necessary. Finally AMerica reached a European-style situation: volatile population, technocratic and educated population and global enemies. This ID card is not 100%$ solution but a great force to make crminal life harder, much harder than now. When I came to the U.S. in 1994 I was stunned how easy it is to cross borders to Canada. Mexico and get all paperwork done with DRIVER"S LICENSE, for rat's sake getting a driver's license is too easy and therefore tracking such illegals is too hard.
