Seth Breidbart Me, me, me, me, me...and folks wonder why we can't all just get along? The question which you keep avoiding is, what if you're NOT worth it to them? What if you're NOT worth anything to anyone? Seriously. Not a put-down, nothing personal. You people keep saying "I'm worth it, I'm worth it" when the whole issue is WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO AREN'T? Fact of the matter is, transit workers have hard jobs that are only hard 'cause they're totally boring. Luckily, it's a rather nice-paying mind-numbing job. Things could be worse. But who wants "could be worse" as the standard of living? Has anyone ever heard of the Social Contract, or are y'all really just small petty Hobbesians in disguise? Bunch of f***ing wood-chucks. Not even a society of ants -- a country of fat-butted squirrels fighting over throw-aways in dumpsters. It's amazing how you people personalize the issue in the most ridiculous ways. You don't personalize by thinking, gee, if that was me out there working, how would I (honestly) feel...you personalize by claiming, hey, my tax dollars! My two cents! I'm footing the whole f***ing system here!! Indeed, who the hell keeps talking about how inflation will go up because wages go up? As if prices ain't gonna go up anyway! Oh sure, for certain commodities, thanks to China and the Third World, heh heh. By that logic, your ideas aren't worth anything, since no one's buying them. Gee, whatever happened to this mythical free market? Worth is determined by negotiations. A strike may not be the kind of negotiating you like, but that sounds pretty free market to me. I'm white-collar and feel frustration with the unionized staff at my workplace, too -- shiftless lazy f***s griping about racism and crap all the time. Nurse's Aides in particular have a funny way of disappearing when diapers need changing, etc. But any system is gonna have its share of free-loaders (heh, I should know; trolling usenet is a benefit to this job!)...don't toss out -- all together now -- the baby with the bath-water!
