It's happened. So I left and found somebody else to whom I was worth it.

That would be my problem, it wouldn't give me the right to coerce anybody else to pay me what I wanted.

If they aren't worth more, they shouldn't receive more.

There are lots of people who aren't worth more; should everybody on Welfare get the amounts the TWU is demanding?

So you think that TA jobs are really just Welfare?

Better to take what someone has thrown away than to force someone to give you what he doesn't want to.

I'd leave for a better job.

If not me, who is?

Anybody who understand economics.

Village Voice on Ghouliani's Theft of Public Documents
What could this mean-spirited tyrant possibly have wanted to conceal from public scrutiny? If only we could know what he knew, prior to 9-11, about the 9-11...

Are you trying to claim that wages have no effect on prices?

Like computers, routers, bandwidth, all sorts of high-tech stuff.

The ones I give away I choose to do so. That's like saying that Simon & Garfunkel's music isn't worth anything because they chose to perform a free concert.

The ideas that I charge a lot for and make my living with are worth a lot.

Precisely. And in negotiating, both sides have the ability to walk away and deal with someone else if they choose.

Or do you consider being robbed at gunpoint "negotiating"?

It's free market if people say "pay more or I'll leave". It's at best monopoly if they all get together to say it. And it's extortion if they prevent anyone else from negotiating against them.
