Perhaps the Management negotiated a compromise with their American values, and shiped the jobs overseas, putting profits ahead... Just because a few people lose their jobs to outsourcing, it doesn't mean it's going to be the be all, end all threat to our economy. Times change and the skills that are in demand, along with what people are willing to pay for them, change as well. For better or worse, those things come with a free-market economy. Forcing companies to pay higher wages and-or to hire workers in a certain geography just because it would be better for America isn't always the best option to take. The best option would be for us to get off our butt and actually innovate again, and everything would take care of itself from there. As I said before, we don't do anything until we're forced to anymore. Boeing was getting fat for years and just counting on everybody buying its products because they'd been around longer until Airbus started eating their lunch. Now, they're back to innovating again and will actually put out a new model for the first time in more than a decade. That model, and others, had been on the drawing board for a long time, but nobody moved ahead until they were forced. There is indeed a fine line to determining that kind of timing, but we've gotten very lazy in that department and it's bad for our nation's economy.
