You can't get it through your thick skull that the city of NY has nothing to do with this. They don't provide retirement benefits to anybody but those who work directly for the city, and that DOES NOT include MTA employees.

And sure, everybody would like something for nothing. But unless you want a socialism-based system like they have in Europe, you aren't going to get it here. And even if we did have that, that would mean our average unemployment rate would be closer to the 10 percent that's regular in Germany, Sweden and many other parts of Western Europe.

You confuse greed with the rules of business. There's nothing wrong with getting a maximum return on investment. Business' ability to do that has caused our economy to benefit greatly and for everyone in the country to benefit from that.

I just returned from a week in Switzerland, and the business news of Europe that week was how England is going through the very same mess with its equivalent of the Social Security system as is the U.S. Basically, they have a system that has promised a high level of benefits to everyone, regardless of how much has been paid in, and can no longer afford that.

Your approach would give the U.S. the very same problem.
