There you go again, blaming the wrong factors for the results.

Once upon a time, Unions threatened to strike. Management could either close down the plants or raise wages. Not being able to see an alternative, and not wanting to sacrifice profits, they were forced to accept a smaller share and raise wages.

Rising wages gave people more leisure time, and technology moved in to provide diversions.

Soon the technological diversions went from being luxuries to necessities, and the economy boomed.

Families wanted more income so that they could get ahead faster, retire earlier and generally enjoy life better. So the serious breadwinner, found himself getting two jobs. But a better solution was found to be for both parents to work.

These two worker families with their greater incomes, fueled a merchandising-services boom. So soon prices were rising to absorb these greater demands.

Finally the two salary families that had been an option, became a necessity itself. And still prices continued to rise as "lifestyles" became the rage to maintain.

Well, somewhere in the mix, people lost sight of human values, they became focused instead on money, finances and entertainment. That left the political power structure, to pretty much do as it pleased, few if any were watching as the people expected them to continue to perform as they had -- somewhat honorably!

Western Muslims' Racist Rape Spree By Sharon Lapkin FrontPageMagazine.com December 27, 2005 In Australia, Norway, Sweden and other Western nations, there is a distinct race-based crime in motion being ignored by...

Unfortunately, using technology to mount the necessary campaigns, left our politicians struggling to find new sources of cash. To reach a large audience of people seeking entertainment as their only value, you had to put your political ads on high profile shows, that cost ever more money, and getting the best time slots for campaigning cost even more.

So the politicians were practically forced by the peoples lack of concern and interest in their nations affairs -- focused as they were on the affairs of "Hollywood" and Sports -- to seek their cash from big business. Unfortunately big business had its price!

Big Business wanted the rights they needed to earn more money. They would "pay" politicians to get the laws out of their way.

One bright sunny morning, some politician said to himself "Hey, if they're willing to pay us to get the laws out of their way, so they can make more money, perhaps I can get them to help me elect the people I need to provide the votes for it". And so the K-Street project was born. Later a player decided he could improve on it, and he's now under indictment for this "improved method of playing the game".

Unfortunately, the "game" involved a "full court press", to get a bunch of malable politicians into office, so much twisting and spinning of detrimental facts were needed to polish their images sufficient to get the people to vote for these fools. But they did.

Now foolish legislation has been pbutted, and we're about to see the real results of it. You cannot "spend yourself rich", which is a proposition that no less than Three Republican Administrations tried, but only two of them saw the light, and reversed their course. Unfortunately the third Republican Adm., is still adamantly insisting (you know, like it hung to pvt accounts etc.,) that it is right and that by shrinking gov't, cutting spending they could put things right. And they'd have been right, if that's what they actually did. Unfortunately, again, that's not what they did. They grew gov't, cut revenue and increased spending, promising that the debt would mean nothing, and be paid down by increased economic activity (and inflation which they didn't want to focus on so they left that out, prefering to have it known as "out year adjustments", ha ha ha.

Well, we've been living for quite some time on the resources saved up during times of better government. But it now appears that all that has finally been spent. And (if I can be forgiven a paraphrasing of a once popular slogan): still there's nothing yet "on the ground for the sparrow", even though the "horse" is near dead from the huge quanbreasty of "oats" he's been forced to consume.

And you still want to blame it all on the Unions??? Gosh, what ever could you be thinking?
