Well, I had a problem with getting charged by CompuServe a couple years ago because usage of their 10 cents a minute 800 number to dial into the network. I just wanted an accounting of the charges, when they were made and for how many minutes. I got someone I had trouble understanding who didn't have a clue about this. They kept asking someone else, maybe a supervisor, and then said I should call the phone company. Of course the phone company would have no idea about CompuServe phone charges, so I hung up and called back hoping to get someone else. I got someone else - with a Texas accent - whom I could understand perfectly. Further, she was able to tell me the dates and times that the calls occurred, which coincided with my work on installing a new operating system. Apparently the OS was activating the dialing-up of the 800 number, and I was racking up charges that way. (That OS upgrade never did work - I had to reinstall everything after formatting the disk...) Anyway, my experience has been that in every case, the person that I could understand was much better at resolving the problem when compared to the one that I couldn't understand. Dave Head
