Our suburban city, as in most jursidictions in the west, allow street parking not to exceed 72 hours in one place - and they will enforce that if the vehicle is not significantly moved - moving it next door or across the street doesn't cut it. There are restrictions on the type of vehicle that can be parked in a residential neighborhood. Most of us in this neighborhood are cognizent of who parks where - few of us park on-street so we are aware of vehicles so parked which we don't recognize. There are two school bus stops on our street so we don't want to take chances. I had to call code enforcement on a huge commercial truck tractor that was parked in front of my house for days on end. Turns out that it belonged to the boyfriend of a renter in the apartment complex next door, and he was specifically given 4 hours to move it to a commercial vehicle storage facility or have it towed there and fined $250 a day plus storage.
