Beaverton is hardly a "Tunaville" -- it's a 60,000 population suburb of one of the largest cities on the west coast. The Portland metro area is about 2 million pop now...hardly a "Snatchboro". eye-opener when I came west and learned that when a driver is stopped for a traffic violation, the officer starts off with "Good morning, sir-ma'am, do you know why I stopped you" as contrasted with the NYPD procedure which I heard with my own ears "WEhat the hell do you think you're doing...." That may be true in the south, but we had a small toen here that "annexed" a portion of I-5 running through it, lowered the speed to 55 (the state;s minimum speed for Interstates) and started writing "speed trap" tickets. That lasted about 4 days until the state Attorney General put a swift end to that nonsence. Sorry, fella, I'm a professional law enforcement manager and used to the high professional standards of the California Highway Patrol and will "accept no subsbreastutes". "Bottom of the barrel" folks never get past probation. It's amazing what exists outside of the NY area......get out west once in a while. -- "Stand Clear of the Closing Doors, Please" Phil Kane - Beaverton, OR PNW Milepost 755 - Tillamook District
