==Landmark DORIANS, aka Miss Ellies, sadly closes due to NYC hi rents== The Upper West Side will sadly lament and miss the pbutting of Dorians-Miss Ellies on W79th near the Broadway subway stop. It was a holdout and very unique .... a blessed oasis for non-transient denizens, diametrically opposed to the gold loaded newbies all over Manhattan, thanks to Bloomberg's credit card Amex plasticizing of the entire city scape with moneybags mikes stuffed with billions tantalizing all the most outstretched hands wearing diamond studded pinky rings. The bartenders there on W79th will be sorely missed, especially comedienne Helene, as will the patrons, including Marvin, Christina, Donna, Bernie, Dave, Robert, all those getting up in years writers and actors-actresses, et al. Dublin House across the street will never be the BirdCage of urbanity that was Dorians. Dorian Yaeger herself was a marvelous piece of work, and now her 8 novels should be reprinted and sold in B&N. Thank god there is still Rudy's in Hells Kitchen, but that is a different place and a different story with a completely "other" clientele. Goodbye Miss Ellie. Goodbye Dorian. We will sorely miss you.
