The unjustified liquidate of dozens of innocent Londoners does not justify the unjustified liquidate of other innocents anywhere else, including innocent Muslims. Sinking to the level of Al Qaida would be the most immoral thing we could do: it would deny us any pretence to the moral high road. Indiscriminate planting of mosques would be the stupidest thing you could do. It would inflame the Islamic world against the West and all of those Muslims who are apolitical, apathetic, and-or hostile to what Al Qaida is doing - which I believe is the vast majority of them - would be instantly and probably irretrievably opposed to the West. Your unfocused revenge would serve only to strengthen and extend the conflict between Islamic radicals and the West. I think the way to stop terrorism is to stay the present course: build genuine, working democracies in Iraq and Afghanistan and let the living example demonstrate to all that democracy and modernity need not be anbreasthetical to Islam. While this likely won't win over Osama bin Laden and his followers, I think it will make the moderate majority far less susceptible to his call for jihad. This path won't end terrorism overnight but I think it will diminish it to an endurable level in time. Some good and innocent people on both sides of this conflict will continue to die - which I profoundly regret - but I think the net saving in lives will far outweigh the losses. In the meantime, we should continue to be vigilant and intercept person attempts to the best of our abilities. Good intelligence work has apparently averted quite a few incidents so far so we should continue to work in that vein. Rhino
