Jeffrey E. Salzberg IMNSHO, neither side seems to have a monopoly on the "truth". "Lies" appear to be based on whether the statement made agrees with a previously held position, rather than the traditional meaning. I have heard Republicans claim that the Democrats lie and I've certainly heard the Democrats claim that the Republicans lie. Apparently we all have a tendency to forget things people say if the statement is one they don't agree with. I am getting so very tired of the hyperbole and character buttbuttination on BOTH sides. How do the Democrats possibly hope to convince any thoughtful person with the kind of hyperbole Cindy Sheehan or Howard Dean are spouting daily? Or, more likely, are the statements "preaching to the choir", i.e., to cheer up the already committed? I certainly have heard nothing that would convince me to vote Democratic in all of this, and the Republicans aren't much better. What ever happened to logical, reasoned political discussion? It seems to be long gone... Perhaps this is one of the reasons I lean much more toward the Libertarians than either of the other parties. As my wife says: "A pox on both their houses!" Regards... Tom
