It was where we each were before we were conceived! Each of us did not exist yet until conceived, until those two sperm and egg cells combined to form a zygote, and before that moment we did not exist, so could be said to 'experience' non-existance. It is my contention that since Mother Nature is extremely conservative in her ways, never inventing anything superfluously or redundently, that it's very *very* likely that the place we go after rest is very much like if not the exact same place we were before we were born! Non-existance! The priests invent any number of fanciful tales, for a variety of reasons. The first is probably to answer the unanswerable questions like "Where do I go after I die?", and once having established power over people, theyr motivations become more and more self-serving, even into the sinister! Like "Please contribute to the collection plate generously!" YUP! The thought that 1) we're here on our own and responsible for ourselves, and 2) we do indeed cease to exist when we die are damned scary things, if true, which I contend they are! OBTW, I do NOT believe in any anthropomorphized, omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient beings. I believe that any and all such beings are purely ficticious inventions, much like...no, *identical* to Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, which we invent for our children to answer their questions in a way they can understand. The problem is that we eventially fess up that Santa and the Easter Bunny were just *make believe* fanciful fun characters, but we maintain that the one we call "God" is *real*, despite all evidence to the contrary! I really do believe we are here on our own and responsible for ourselves, yano? I do not believe there is any such thing as a "God" looking over us and taking care of us.
