As part of the Brecht Forum's 30th anniversary Brecht Fest, the Theater of the Oppressed Laboratory invites you to join us in celebrating theater as martial art--a fightback tool for decolonizing the mind and empowering oppressed communities in struggle.

If you've been wondering what this work is all about, but haven't been able to commit to a full weekend workshop, now is the time to find out. Come for an evening of performance-demonstrations of Image Theater and Forum Theater. Actively take part, or just sit and watch.

Participatory games facilitated by Carmelina Cartei, Kayhan Irani, Esperanza Martell and Marie-Claire Picher. Performance by Filipino indigeneous dance, music and martial arts ensemble Kinding Sindaw, directed by Potri Ranka Manis.

This event is part of a ten-day celebration of the Brecht Forum's Thirtieth Anniversary and the Grand Opening of its new home at 451 West Street.

2005 also marks TOPLAB's fifteenth anniversary year and our ongoing collaboration with the Brecht Forum. We salute the Brecht Forum and look forward to many more years of comradeship and solidarity!

Suggested donation: sliding scale--$10, $15, $25, more if you can, less if you can't!
