They did their statistical analysis, and found up to 3-4 of men could avoid the AIDS virus if they were simply circumcised, but they buried that report, since the UN was trying to ban all types of circumcision. There has never been a practical reason for female circumcision, more a cultural one of poor families wanting to avoid paying a dowry in an old world system. However, lack of disease has always been the main reason for male circumcision, with science later supporting what was originally a religious issue of covenant, that proved circumcised men are always cleaner and less prone to contracting certain VD and cancer and spreading it to the female population, which always has been more vulnerable to both.
