In the early 1800s, the standard of living wasn't as high as it is now, but it was accessible to anyone who wanted to work for it, even if "working" meant living off of the land by hunting and gathering. Do you think we're living in a free society when, as you point out, the border gets mobbed by millions of illegal aliens, and your neoconservative administration and congress refuse to prosecute the people who employ the illegal aliens in preference to the enbreastled citizens and legal immigrants? When free-market forces are undercut by selective enforcement or non-enforcement of laws? When the living wage rises to the point where the citizens and legal-immigrants who choose to abide by the law cannot compete with the lawbreakers? How is this a "free society", idiot? Or is it a tyranny where they don't wear jackboots, they just don't let the law-abiding work profitably if they're not part of the club in power at the moment, and they don't let you join the club unless your family's rich and you went to the right schools which can't be afforded by the people put out of work through unfair compebreastion by the lawbreakers and Invaders?
