COMMUNICATIONS FROM HIS HONOR, THE MAYOR:

The following were received:

0242 - Message and order authorizing the Police Commissioner to accept and expend a grant of $3,368,400.00 from the Mbuttachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety, for the purpose of funding the Police Department?s FY2006 Same Cop Same Neighborhood Program.

0243 - Message and order authorizing the Fire Department to accept and expend a grant of $1,184,872.00 from the United States Department of Homeland Defense, for the purpose of purchasing fire operations and firefighter safety equipment including mobile computer terminals and system enhancements, radio system enhancements, portable radios, radio transmit site station and satellite receivers.

0244 - Message and order approving an appropriation of $1,200,000.00 from the income of the George Francis Parkman Fund for the maintenance and improvement of the Boston Common and Parks.

0245 - Message and order to facilitate the disposition and redevelopment of the F Building and certain land located at the former Boston Specialty and Rehabilitation Hospital in Mattapan.

0246 - Message and order authorizing the Police Commissioner to accept and expend a grant of $63,710.00 from the Mbuttachusetts State Police under the FY04 NIJ Forensic Casework DNA Backlog Reduction Program, for the Police Crime Lab to receive contracted services in order to reduce its DNA case backlogs.

0247 - Message and order authorizing the Department of Transportation to specifically appropriate $25,000.00 from Gateway Developers for the purpose of printing materials and informational signage to manage tour buses and tourist vehicles to promote tourism in Boston?s Historic Districts, including Charlestown.

0248 - Message and order authorizing the Police Commissioner to accept and expend a grant of $6,321.73 from the Mbuttachusetts Office of the Attorney General, for the purpose of school safety in the Grove Hall area.

0249 - Message and order approving a pebreastion for a special law regarding an act Relating to the Procurement and Award of Contracts for Redeveloping a certain Public Housing Project in the City.

0250 - Candiani Transportation Inc., for a license to operate motor vehicles for the carriage of pbuttengers for hire over certain streets in Boston.

REPORTS OF PUBLIC OFFICERS AND OTHERS:

0251 - Communication was received from Shawn Warren from KPMG LLP., regarding minutes from previous Audit Committee meetings.

0252 - Communication was received from the City Clerk of the filing by the Boston Redevelopment Authority of the ?Application for the Trinity Mattapan Heights Three Limited Partnership Proposed Chapter 121A Project?.

0253 - Notice was received from the City Clerk in accordance with Chapter 6 of the Ordinances of 1979 re: actions taken by the Mayor on papers acted upon by the City Council at its meeting on December 14, 2006.
