that's a pollyanna dream at best. the social and economic concerns that the soviets addressed (among others) were the income inequality in the US, and other countries. income inequality was seen as bad, uncecessary, and something that should be eliminated, even if they had to "break some eggs" to make their utopian (and failed) omelette. our capitalist system (not pure laissez faire capitalist, of course, but one that has a system that grows wealth, and allows the market to reward performance, risktaking, entrepreneurship etc.) does nto view income inequality as a bad thing. we absolutely set up a social safety net (we should and do do this) but if we try to change our society to eliminate income inequality, we necessarily eliminate the very engine that makes our system the better system by addressing their "concerns" we destroy the system that has made us great. fortunately, we did not do this. we retained our vastly superior system, and retained our greatness. and we put the kind of pressure on them that hastened their fall and resulted in the freeing of scores of millions of people in the last several decades, leading even to the at that time unimaginable defeat of the eastern bloc, and the fall of the berlin wall. and because of our steadfastness, the world is a much better place. whit
